A Challenging Arithmetic Lesson
Bring an incredibly rare piece of history and spectacular Bavarian artistry to your collection with this extremely hard-to-find 1950s Goebel Hummel large figurine, "School Boys" (Model #170)! Also known among collectors as Difficult Problems (and beautifully in German as Schwere Aufgaben), this fantastic vintage collectible was originally modeled by the renowned master sculptor Reinhold Unger. It captures a delightfully sweet scholastic scene, featuring three young boys puzzling over today's math lesson! The boy in the center, wearing a green plaid jacket and a brown Tyrolean hat, points at a small slate board reading "1+1=". He is flanked by his friends—one wearing a red plaid shirt and a heavy backpack, and the other scratching his chin in deep thought! 👦🏼🎒🧮📝✨
Exquisite Craftsmanship & Quality: Measuring an impressive 10" tall by 7-1/2" wide, this massive large version is a breathtaking showcase of Goebel's famed dedication to character craftsmanship, bearing the highly prized TMK-2 "Full Bee" trademark dating back to the 1950s! The meticulous hand-painted brushstrokes highlighting their focused, rosy-cheeked expressions, the expertly sculpted, tactile texture of the wooden-framed slate, the intricately painted plaid patterns, and the remarkably soft, classic matte color palettes highlight incredible German porcelain artistry! As seen in the pictures, it is in EXCELLENT condition with absolutely no chips, cracks, or professional repairs. ✨ Proudly display this impressive, hardworking trio safely resting as a commanding focal point on a classic oak home office desk, or securely centered on a brightly lit library bookshelf!
